Top 5 Reasons Why Hunger Games is a Success

So Many blogs, news, articles, etc about why The Hunger Games (the motion picture) is a success and is still booming at the Box Office. Well, since everyone is giving their opinions, some are copying word to word from others, and some are acutally putting the the facts to make a sense.

Mine is also opinionated. It's a blog...personal blog! Either you read it or you don't!

So here's Top 5 Reasons Why (I think) Hunger Games is a Success

Reason 5:  It's NOT Twilight...It's Better, in fact!

'Nuff Said! Even Twihard fans have to now grow up and find something better than 'blood sucking vamps' and wimpy female protagonist! Growing up, being strong and being a woman....that's what we need in this world, and this movie provides that!

Reason 4: Girl Power

Coming back to Twlight, we don't need wimpy women idols. We need strong ones. Ones who have the capacity to bear struggles in life, and not think about committing suicide.  Katniss is one strong female protagonist. And I think that's what we need these days to empower women! More female oriented non-romance movies, e.g., I'm a huge Sanda Bullock fan, most of her movies (e.g. The Blind Side, The Poroposal, and Miss Congeniality) are of course female- oriented movies. She's the female protagonist and audiences loved her! We love watching kick-ass women ruling at the box-office!

Reason 3: Worldwide all-gender audience

I read somewhere that Hunger Games had 20% more male audience than Twilight. Why? Because, I think initially (those who haven't read the books) when you see the trailer of the movie, it seems like its a female-oriented film and the male protagonist might be subsided. Female-oriented film? YES! Male-protagonist subsided? NO! NO NO NO NO!!!! If you don't love Peeta Mellark, then you need to watch the movie again and READ THE BOOK! My Fav character is Peeta, no doubt!!! (why? I'll tell maybe some other day in another post).
MEN:  You might wanna go and see it for Jennifer Lawrence ;) One of my friend said he saw the movie only cuz of her. LOL :) (there you go....incentive for the males to go see the movie)

Reason 2: Casts (including the supporting cast)

Ok, so everyone is saying Jennifer Lawrence is the backbone of this movie. Um...well, I mean no doubt she's the one who stands out in the movie, proving once again that she is a girl of substance. (BTW, if you didn't know, she's an Oscar- nominated actress....take that KS :D )
Anyways, yes, Lawrence does carry the movie on her shoulder, but with the help of the other cast as well. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson...drool anybody?!) does his part so well, yet the movie needed more of his scene. Effie, Haymitch, Cina, the main Capitol people, and of course the rest of the 22 contributors of the Hunger Games.
*pic above: all but one are contributors...guess which one...*

Reason 1: Suzzane Collins

Where would this movie be without the book its based of off? Sure, this is somewhat similar to Battle Royale (a Japanese novel and movie of the same) but you must consider the differences. Just like if you start saying why would anyone watch or read Harry Potter when there was already Lord of the Rings!....got my point? If not, then you have to read/watch them (sigh!)
But Suzzane had captured readers by her content, imagination and her writing style (ah, let me not do a book review here)...
P.S. Did you know she drafted the first half of the movie's screenplay? How cool is that? :D

So there you go folks,  my top 5 reasons for the success of The Hunger Games (motion picture)
